Steps Against Sexual Assault 5k Walk/Run

Join FRIENDS, Inc. for our 2nd Annual Steps Against Sexual Assault 5K Walk/Run, a powerful community event held in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and all survivors of Sexual Violence.

Last year, the community showed up in force and helped raise over $12,000 to support survivor advocacy, prevention education, and 24/7 crisis response services. It was more than a fundraiser, it was a public statement that sexual violence will not be ignored in our community.

This year, we’re bringing that same energy back to Ridge Run Park with a brand-new route, expanded activities, and even more ways to stand in solidarity with survivors. This event will take place rain or shine (or even in the bitter cold!). We are committed to standing together no matter what, and we hope you’ll bundle up, lace up, and show up with us.

Registration Types:

Individual Registration: $35
Group Registration (2–4 participants): $35 per person
Group Registration (5+ participants): $30 per person

Your Registration Includes:

Official Steps Against Sexual Assault event t-shirt
Participation in the timed 5K walk/run

The opportunity to stand publicly with survivors in our community

This event is designed to bring people together. In addition to the 5K, you can expect:

Denim Painting Station: In honor of Denim Day, participants can decorate denim pieces in solidarity against victim-blaming and sexual violence.
Commitment Board: Write a message of support, share why you walk, or make a personal commitment to prevention.
Raffle Baskets + 50/50: Featuring incredible items donated by local businesses and supporters.
Games & Activities: Family-friendly fun for all ages.
Food & Beverages: Included with registration so you can refuel and connect.

We love a little friendly competition. Awards will be presented for:

“FAB Furry FRIENDS Award” – For the Pet Lovers
Fastest Youth Runner (Age 13 & Under)

This is where families push strollers. Friends walk arm-in-arm. Businesses stand proudly. Survivors see they are not alone. Sexual violence impacts individuals of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. By participating in this event, you are helping FRIENDS, Inc. continue to provide free and confidential services to survivors in our community.

This is more than a 5K.
